Bio

A lifelong passion for farm animals in general and horses in particular has led Jordan to develop a high level of compassion and respect for horses as individuals. This is reflected in the care he takes training both horses and riders. No one horse or rider is the same as any other. Whether Jordan is training only a horse, or working with a rider to improve their skills, the individual needs of the horse or rider is his paramount concern.

As a USDF Silver Medalist, Jordan competes and develops horses from the basics to FEI. While his main focus is dressage, Jordan is equally competent developing both horse and rider in all levels of stock seat, pleasure driving, and the basics of jumping/eventing.

Jordan has completed a year-long apprenticeship program at the Miracle Mountain Ranch in Spring Creek, PA. There he trained horses for stock seat, driving, dressage, and hunt seat disciplines, both for the Ranch’s school use and for private clients. While at MMR he also became certified as an Instructor through CHA. He worked as assistant trainer at Rivendell Stables in Woodstock, VT, until he began Maverick Hill Dressage in the summer of 2010.

Jordan enjoyed attending the 2013 Hassler's Dressage YDHTS (Young Dressage Horse Trainers Symposium) at Riveredge stable in Chesapeake City, MD. Scott Hassler, Ingo Pape, and Michael Klimke were the presenters for the the Symposium. The focus was on the development of young dressage prospects with a keen eye on the developing FEI horse.

Continuing his own education is as important to Jordan as training others. Jordan is currently working with Robin Groves and Sharon McCusker. In the past few years he has attended clinics or taken lessons with Gunnar Osergaard, Michael Klimke, Michael Poulin, Luis Denizard, Arlene “Tuny” Page, Roel Thuniessen, Lew Sterrett, Kathleen Cronk and Denny Emerson.
