Custom Saddlery Names Lauren Chumley Most Valuable Rider for Week Eight of the Adequan Global Dressage Festival
Wellington, Florida— Lauren Chumley rode five horses into ten tests over week eight of the Adequan Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, Florida and came out with eight wins and two reserves: now that’s a Custom Saddlery Most Valuable Rider.
But Chumley isn’t only a Custom Saddlery MVR Award winner, she’s also a customer, who has counted on Custom Saddles to deliver support and form-fitting comfort for an extraordinary array of competitive dressage mounts, from Norwegian Fjords to baroque Andalusians and Friesians, and imported Warmbloods.
“Custom Saddles definitely make me a better rider,” the Pittstown, New Jersey trainer told Custom Saddlery’s Cary Wallace while accepting her MVR Award at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center. “They offer terrific support while helping a rider keep their position, and are tremendously handy to use on all the breeds that I show. They fit everything!”
Lyra, Judith Sprieser’s 14 year-old Holsteiner (Limbus x U-Fascination)) mare Chumley rode in Thursday evening’s FEI Prix St. Georges. Or Friso, Erica Hatfield’s nine year-old Friesian (Doaitsen 420 x Imke Wimerke) gelding that Chumley rode to First Level Test 3 winning scores; and Huelveno VI, Hatfield’s 11 year-old, 16-hand grey Andalusian (Huelveno III x Nadadora XXXII) gelding she took to Third Level Tests throughout the weekend.
Or CH Felles and Oh Wynn, Norwegian Fjords she took into the winner’s circle for owner Jill Asplundh Kosek. Chumley rode Asplundh Kosek's 14.2 hand red dun stallion Oh Wynn (Flotren x Braggen x Baldur) to a trio of Training Level Tests 1,2 and 3 wins. On Asplundh Kosek’s CH Felles (MVF Erlend x Skjenna Gard Fiorgyn), the Custom Saddlery MVR not only clinched First Level wins all weekend, but did so in a Custom Saddle tailored to fit and flatter the 14-hand grey dun stallion.
“We’d recently asked Custom to design a patent leather saddle, in a faux blue crocodile pattern, to match his grey coat. It’s really sharp!” Chumley exclaimed. In addition to already enjoying the quality design and workmanship of her Custom Saddles, the MVR Award winner was presented with a commemorative ribbon, branded black and white Custom Saddle cover and $150 gift certificate good toward the purchase of a saddle crafted by the noted tailors of dressage equipment.
Will Chumley be mulling what might match a red dun next? Maybe. But first this multi-faceted rider is keeping her eyes on the prizes still ahead, including qualifying for Regionals, the Devon Horse Show and the next Medium Tour at White Fences. To see more follow this link.
