Custom Saddlery MVRs Excel at the U.S. Dressage Festival of Champions and Markel/USEF Young and Developing Horse Dressage National Championships
Wayne, IL (September 8, 2016) – A host of Custom Saddlery Most Valuable Riders (MVRs) claimed Championship titles and ribbons while competing in their Custom Saddlery saddles at the 2016 U.S. Dressage Festival of Champions and Markel/USEF Young and Developing Horse Dressage National Championships at the Lamplight Equestrian Center in Wayne, Illinois. While sponsoring the elite competition and supporting the company’s talented riders, Custom Saddlery also rewarded four winning competitors with brand new Custom saddles of their own.
Custom Saddlery, the Official Saddle of the USEF, presented four young Champions with the Custom Saddlery Smooth Wolfgang Solo Jr. saddle. Anna Buffini of California earned the saddle by notching the win in the USEF Young Adult “Brentina Cup” Dressage National Championship presented by Dressage Today on her own Sundayboy, a 17-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding (Kennedy x Eezelma). Barbara BeBe Davis of Florida claimed the saddle by taking first place in the AGCO/USEF Young Rider Dressage National Championship on Michael Davis’ Feivel Mousekewitz, a 15-year-old Hanoverian gelding (Federweisser x Saninni). Another saddle went to AGCO/USEF Junior Dressage National Championship winner Jenna Upchurch from Missouri on her own Greystoke, an 11-year-old Oldenburg gelding (Rosentanz x Ginger), and to Julia Barton, a Kansas resident and victor in the USEF Pony Rider Dressage National Championship on her own Bonnaroo, a seven-year-old Weser-EMS mare (FS Don’t Worry x Buttercup).
Davis’ trainer Endel Ots was especially happy to see Davis earn a Custom saddle with her stellar performance, as Ots is sponsored by Custom as a Custom Saddlery MVR himself. Ots and Lucky Strike, a Hanoverian gelding (Lord Laurie x Heidi) owned by Max Ots, also had an impressive weekend at the National Championships, claiming the 6-Year-Old National Championship title. Ots rides Lucky Strike in the Icon Coda Custom saddle model.
More Custom saddles entered the winners’ circle as Custom Saddlery MVR Dr. Cesar Parra of Piaffe Performance Farm rode two different horses to Reserve Championship finishes in the Young Horse classes. Parra and Fashion Designer OLD, an eight-year-old Oldenburg gelding (Faustinus x De Niro) owned by Martin Sosnoff, took Reserve in the Developing Prix St. George classes. Parra and his own Don Cesar, a six-year-old Westphalian gelding (Desperados x Sacre Schwalbe, Manhattan), wowed the judges in the 6-Year-Old division, placing second to Ots.
