With Multiple Top Placings at IALHA National Championships, Robert Chapeski Secures the Custom Saddlery MVR Award
South Jordan, UT – Robert Chapeski and his handsome five-year-old Andalusian gelding raked in the accolades at the 2016 International Andalusian and Lusitano Horse Association (IALHA) National Championship Show this September. The pair earned the Custom Saddlery Most Valuable Rider (MVR) Award, two dressage National Championship titles, the overall High Point score of the show, and a slew of ribbons and other prizes at the South Jordan, Utah event. With results like that, you can bet the ranch that this gelding – Galante SG – is one special horse. USDF Gold Medalist Chapeski purchased Galante as a weanling from Spanish Gate Andalusians and raised the horse at his farm, Chapeski Dressage LLC in Florence, Montana. At the 2016 IALHA Nationals, the pair won the dressage Training Level and First Level Championships and snared the overall High Point score with a 72.79 percent at First Level. FEI Dressage Judge Cesar Torrente named Chapeski as winner of the show’s Custom Saddlery Most Valuable Rider Award for the expert handling of his horse, the execution of his test, his sportsmanship, showmanship, and general professionalism. “We’ve met all of our goals and then some,” Chapeski said of Galante, the first Andalusian he ever purchased. “He’s been a joy.” Chapeski trains and competes a variety of horse breeds in Montana, where he is based year-round. In addition to Galante, he also trains Spanish Gate Andalusians’ seven-year-old stallion, Patriotico SG, with whom he claimed the Reserve National Champion title at Training Level at the recent IALHA show. Cathy and Joe McCarter, owners of Spanish Gate Andalusians, have been breeding Andalusians for nearly 30 years in Bitterroot Valley, Montana, and were thrilled to learn of Chapeski’s success with both horses.
