Amy Speck-Kern, of Excel Dressage, is an FEI trainer based in Loxahatchee, Florida. She is a USDF Bronze and Silver medalist, USDF "L" graduate with distinction, and has completed the training and testing of the USEF "r" dressage judge's program. Originally from Wisconsin, she began working for 1992 Olympic Bronze medalist Michael Poulin and USEF "S" judge Sharon Poulin in 2005 and spent over five years as a working student. With the Poulins, Amy learned the training process in developing young horses from green to Grand Prix, with an emphasis on teaching piaffe and passage. Amy has developed several horses from the beginning to FEI, and has achieved many top placings at the Global Dressage Festival and Markel/USEF Young Horse qualifiers. She was also a finalist at the 2016 Markel/USEF Young Horse National Championships in the five year old division. Excel Dressage also imports top quality horses from Europe, and Exc el Dressage imports have competed and had top placings at Regional and National Championships. Amy currently works with the Poulins and 2016 Oympic Bronze medalist Allison Brock, and looks forward to the 2018 Global Dressage Festival.
