Amanda started her riding journey at age five on her Arab / Quarter Horse mare Misty, participating in Washington Pony clubs as well as all around English/ Western classes. By age nine she had found her passion for Dressage with a blanket Appy named Mr. Bodacious. During the next 5 years she had showed him through fourth level. By fifteen, she graduated High School and made the move to Southern California to spend her next three years as a working student to Hilda Gurney. ​ In 1998, she was a member of the gold medal winning team at the National Junior Team Championship with Espirit, a Dutch Gelding. During this time, she also gained the valuable skills of working as a vet tech at a referral hospital. In 2000, she was was a member of the silver medal team at NAYRC, as well as individual top 10. She was invited to be one of two US Young Riders to represent USET at a European CDI on a Bavarian gelding named Roma. In her career, Amanda has shown over 75 horeses, representing over 20 breeds, while earning her Bronze, Silver and Gold medals. ​ For 12 years Amanda ran Mandolin Dressage training in Northern Nevada, followed then by 8 years of managing one of the country’s largest dressage sales programs. In early 2018, she returned to the Pacific Northwest to establish Amanda Olson Dressage in Arlington, Washington along with her husband, Aaron, and their long-haired miniature dachshunds Fudge and Charlie.
